Naira Marley regains freedom, gets N2 million bail

Naira Marley has been granted bail on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

The controversial singer was granted bail in sum of N2 million by Justice Nicholas Onweibo of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile were arrested by the EFCC for alleged involvement in fraud activities. Zlatan was released after four days of questioning while the EFCC arraigned Naira Marley on May 20 before Justice Nicholas Oweibo, where he pleaded not guilty to an 11-count charge bordering on cyber crime.

Hours before the judgement, Naira Marley released a new single, ‘Why.’ The song, produced by Oluwajbeats, has the singer quering his friends and wondering why everyone seem to be after his success. He also scolded fake friends in the song, which lasts 3 minutes.

Naira Marley joins his friend and colleague, Zlatan Ibile, who headed to the studio to release a new song, ‘4 days in Ekotieboh,’ after his release from EFCC custody.
