Ahead 2021 Lagos LGA/LCDA elections, Taoreed Ajuwon declares interest for Ifako Ijaiye Chairmanship position

Taoreed Ajuwon has declared interest in running for the Ifako Ijaiye chairmanship position ahead of the 2021 Local Government and Local Council Development Area elections in Lagos state.

Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has assured of the state’s readiness to conduct a free and credible polls in to offices in 2021.

Chairman of LASIEC Justice Ayotunde Phillips had, in July, led other members of the commission on inspection tour of electoral offices in various Local Government Councils of the state.

The commission assured that the agency is working tirelessly on revised guidelines that would reflect how it could successfully conduct elections in the present reality of COVID-19 pandemic, if the situation persisted beyond this year.

And ahead of the polls, Taoreed Ajuwon who graduated at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, has promised to reposition Ifako Ijaiye if elected into office as chairman of the Local Government.

He said: “It is time to reposition Ifako Ijaiye to become the leading Local Government in our state. We have both intellectual and resourceful capacities to turn things around to improve the lives and well-being of our people.

“In the realization of my ambition, I will contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and I seek support and prayers of everyone in the Local Government.

The career banker further added that Ifako Ijaiye which was created along with 183 other local governments on October 1, 1996 by General Sani Abacha, the then military head of state, will witness massive development during his time.
