Ahead of the November 6, governorship in Anambra state, tens of thousands thronged the streets in support of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate, Ubah, who many have branded as the ‘grassroots mobilizer’ has continued to take his campaigns into the nooks and crannies of the state.
In what seemed like a revolution, the YPP campaign tour, on Wednesday, September 22, attracted, men, women, businessmen, youths, artisans as well as children alike as the crowd moved with the motorcade showing how much the Capital Oil boss is loved.
The Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum, Upstream, Ifeanyi Ubah, easily clinched the party’s ticket ahead of the governorship election.
Ubah expressed optimism that his party will beat others mercilessly, but expressed concerns over the recent South-East crisis.
The Senator has been active in the 9th Assembly as the Nigerian Senate earlier adopted the motion on urgent need to checkmate exorbitant increase and unjustifiable shipping fees charged on Nigeria-bound cargoes – a motion moved by Ubah.
Ifeanyi Ubah, amongst others, also sponsored a bill to establish the National Centre for Sickle Cell Anaemia Research and Treatment, Aguata on the floor of the Senate.
Only recently, the federal government approved his request to reconstruct some federal roads within his senatorial district.
The approval was contained in a letter the Federal Controller of Works in Anambra, Adeyemo Ajani addressed to Toshel Construction Company (TCC), the construction firm handling the project.
For his love for his people, the YPP governorship candidate, alongside 400 top businessmen in the state completed two ultramodern Medical Centres, one in Nnewi and the other in Awka.
