The Court of Appeal in Abuja has lifted the movement restriction placed on human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.
In 2019, a Federal High Court restricted Sowore’s movement to Abuja following charges of treasonable felony, cyberstalking President Muhammadu Buhari among other offenses.
However, the appeal court ruled that Sowore could now leave Abuja but not travel out of Nigeria.
The human rights activist who shared this Announcement on his Twitter page said the court believes the restriction placed on him was excessive.
He Tweeted: Court of appeal in Abuja saying my restriction to Abuja is excessive and now lifted.”
