Nigeria COVID-19 cases now 15,181 –NCDC


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Friday announced another high daily figure of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, with 627 new infections.

The high figures on Friday make it two consecutive days the nation is recording high confirmed COVID-19 cases.

The agency made this known on Friday via its official verified Twitter handle @NCDCgov

The agency said that with the new 627 infections, Nigeria now has 15,181 cases

The NCDC also stated that as of June 12, 12 deaths were recorded.

The agency, however, said that no new state had reported a case in the last 24 hours.

According to the NCDC, Lagos state again led with 229 new cases. Abuja is second with 65 new infections.

Other states with new infections include Abia (54), Borno (42), Oyo (35), Rivers (28), Rivers (28), Edo (28), Gombe (27), Ogun (21), Plateau (18), Delta (18), Bauchi (10), Kaduna (10), Benue (9), Ondo (8), Kwara (6), Nasarawa (4), Enugu (4), Sokoto (3), Niger (3), Kebbi (3), Yobe (1), and Kano (1).

The agency said that till date, 15,181 cases had been confirmed with 9,891 active cases, while 4,891 cases have been treated and discharged.

The NCDC also said 399 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The health agency reiterated that it remained focused and committed to its mandate of protecting the health of all Nigerians.
