The Peoples Democratic Party has scheduled April 14, 2022, as the closing date for the procurement of nomination forms, and April 17, 2022, as the closing date for submission of nomination forms for the 2023 general elections.
The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, stated this in a statement on Thursday, April 7, 2022, in Abuja.
Ologunagba revealed that under the prearranged timetable, revised dates had been adopted for the screening and appeal of candidates. According to the statement, the timeline for PDP screening is as follows:
Screening of candidates for State House of Assembly elections will be on April 19, 2022, and appeals will be on April 21, 2022.
Screening of candidates for National Assembly elections will be on April 20, 2022, and appeals will be on April 22, 2022.
Screening of candidates for Governorship elections will be on April 21, 2022, and appeals will be on April 26, 2022.
Screening of candidates for Presidential elections will be on April 25, 2022, and appeals will be on April 27, 2022.
Ologunagba urged all party members to comply with the newly-issued directive.
“Please note that all duly completed state assembly forms are to be submitted at the various states’ secretariat of the party. All aspirants, critical stakeholders, and party members are urged to be guided accordingly.”
The total number of extensions has amounted to three changes in submission dates, previous deadlines were April 1, 2022, and April 8, 2022.
