Senator Ifeanyi Ubah commends President Buhari, IGP over creation of new force HQ in Anambra


Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for approving a new Zone 13 Police Headquarters which will be located at Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu had approved the new Zonal Police Headquarters and forwarded same to President Buhari for his assent.

The new Zonal Police Headquarters will be in charge of Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi Police Commands.

With the new development, cases from Anambra will not need to be taken to Zone 9 Umuahia anymore – and according to Senator Ubah who represents Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, the historical mile stone is worthy of commendation.

He said in a statement: “This a historical milestone that is worthy of commendation because since the creation of Anambra State 25years ago, this is the first zonal command to be established in Anambra State, particularly Ukpo community which is 10miles within the Awka Capital city radius and also a central meeting point between Onitsha and Awka.

“It is also worthy of note to state that Dunukofia, Njikoka, Awka North and Awka South are the four(4) LGAs that make up Anambra Capital territory.

“Undoubtedly, security is a key enabler of development in every functional society. The creation of zone13 in Ukpo, Dunukofia LGA of Anambra is the last piece of the puzzle to achieve a holistic and comprehensive security apparatus which will strengthen Anambra and the entire Southeastern zone’s capacity to tackle prevailing security challenges.

“Furthermore, I also commended President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) for his intervention in the Enugu-Onitsha expressway which is presently being constructed by RCC. Upon completion, this road will facilitate seamless movement and connection between the five(5) states in the Southeast. It is also on record that 48% work has been achieved in the Second Niger bridge project.

“This is an epoch-making project that will further open up our economic gateway and foster sustainable development in the Southeast.

“On behalf of the good people of Anambra, I want to appreciate His Excellency; President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), The Inspector General Of Police; IGP Mohammed Adamu and The Senate President; Senator Ahmad Lawan for their unparalleled contributions to the actualization of this historic feat which I believe will harness economic prosperity that will bring about total eradication of criminal activities, community uprising and restiveness in Anambra and the SouthEast in general.”
